Loan Administration Supervisor

 

A growing financial institution is seeking an experienced Loan Administration Supervisor to oversee residential and commercial loan administration and servicing operations. This role is responsible for leading a loan operations team, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and supporting the full loan lifecycle from closing through ongoing servicing.

 

Position Overview

The Loan Administration Supervisor manages the daily activities of loan administration and servicing, including underwriting support, loan closings, funding, system setup, servicing, reporting, and customer service. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls while developing and supporting a high‑performing team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and Develop Staff

  • Manage daily loan operations, servicing workflow, and staff assignments
  • Monitor workflow queues and exception reports and implement corrective actions
  • Train, coach, and mentor staff to ensure procedural accuracy and compliance
  • Support employee onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing professional development

Underwrite and Originate Loans

  • Review residential mortgage files for accuracy and secondary‑market compliance
  • Support residential loan sales and secondary‑market delivery processes
  • Manage commercial loan originations from document preparation through final booking

Manage Loan Servicing Operations

  • Oversee loan onboarding, servicing setup, and ongoing maintenance within the core system
  • Administer loan payments, escrow accounts, insurance tracking, and property taxes
  • Approve payoffs, releases, subordinations, modifications, and administrative extensions
  • Control construction loan advances and post‑closing line‑of‑credit disbursements
  • Execute year‑end servicing functions, annual statements, and required IRS reporting

Ensure Compliance and Quality Control

  • Enforce internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements (including CFPB, SCRA, FCRA, and Flood regulations)
  • Support internal audits and regulatory examinations through accurate documentation and recordkeeping
  • Conduct monthly quality control reviews and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Identify and escalate compliance issues, control gaps, or procedural deviations

Optimize Processes and Reporting

  • Review daily, monthly, and exception‑based servicing reports for accuracy
  • Identify trends, risks, and system or process inefficiencies
  • Recommend and implement process and technology improvements to enhance efficiency

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in loan servicing or loan operations supporting residential and commercial loan portfolios
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience with demonstrated ability to coach and develop staff
  • Strong working knowledge of loan servicing systems and post‑closing processes
  • Experience with residential escrow administration (taxes and insurance) and commercial loan servicing activities, including advances, lines of credit, modifications, and subordinations
  • Working familiarity with loan servicing compliance and regulatory requirements

This is an on-site role in Essex, CT. The salary range for the role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually
